Traditionally, this year at the end of April in Targovishte was held "Chinese Film Week", thanks to the joint efforts of the Friends of China Association - Targovishte, People's Community Center "Napredak - 1864" - Targovishte and Institute "Confucius" at the University of Veliko Tarnovo, as well as with the assistance of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bulgaria. The event is part of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Targovishte and enjoys popularity among the citizens who look forward to it every year. The official opening was attended by Ms. Raya Mateva - Deputy Mayor of Targovishte Municipality, Mr. Rumen Novakov - Chairman of the Friends of China Association and Mr. Chen Dapeng - Chinese language lecturer at the Confucius Institute at the VTU and Confucius Classroom at the "Hristo Botev" Primary School - Targovishte.
