Summary/Abstract: This paper studies mythonyms in their invective function. The research aims to find different types of verbal aggression in the Internet discourse and to present and analyze the case of the ten Baidu Mythical Creatures. These are fictional mythological creatures, devised as a form of protest against Chinese online censorship.
